Then from the Menu bar, select Composition > Trim Composition to Work Area. Set your work area start and end points to the section of the composition you wish to loop.Is there a way to add to the expression 'Loop Out x amount of times.' Which would then automatically extend the layer to fit?Įnable Time Remap - Add loop out expression - loop 12 times : And then that clip automatically has a perfect loop extended 12 times. This will loop your selected composition. But sometimes the numbers aren't as exact as that. I know that a 15 second clip looped 12 times should hit that 3 minute mark.

What I've been doing is: enable time-remapping - add the "loop out" expression - then extend the layer out until the necessary endpoint.īut when I extend it's not always exact (especially if the video clip duration isn't a round number) so when the comp loops there's a bit of a jump cut until I fudge with it to find the right endpoint. But that creates a lot of layers and takes more time. I can duplicate the layer 12 times and just butt each clip against each other so I have a seamless loop animation. So I need to extend that 15 second clip to loop the entire time in the background. The video clip is 15 seconds long (for ease of math). Let's say I have a video clip (pre-rendered MOV) for a background layer, that's created to loop. I basically want to see if there is a simple way to say "loop this video clip 12 times, and then stop." So that I don't have to try to calculate the time at which the "perfect loop" would occur at the end of the layer.

I'm trying to find if there is a simple way to extend the time of a background layer, using a "Loop out" expression, to a specific number of loops. I tried searching for this, but I'm having trouble wording the question in a way that brings up the right info.
